Leapmotor executives told CarExpert and other media that the company can develop a new vehicle in roughly 14 to 16 months. They did not define exactly when the clock starts and stops, so it should not be compared blindly against other brands that quote different points in their timelines. The point, however, is clear. The B03X is a B segment, battery electric urban crossover built on Leapmotor’s latest dedicated EV architecture. At the 2026 Brussels motor show, Leapmotor presented its B05 hatchback and B10 Hybrid EV alongside the B03X. The B05 targets the C segment with a sleek coupe like profile, up to about 460 km WLTP range from a roughly 67 kWh battery and fast charging above 170 kW, according to pre homologation data released by Leapmotor.

The B10 Hybrid EV extends Leapmotor’s range extender technology, combining an approximately 18.8 kWh battery, about 80 km WLTP electric range and a compact 1.5 liter petrol generator for long distance trips, with a quoted combined range of up to 900 km. The first concrete Stellantis project based on Leapmotor mechanicals is a planned Opel C segment electric SUV. According to CarExpert and Stellantis briefings, engineers in Germany and China are working together. Leapmotor will supply core components from its newest electric architecture and battery technology, while Opel will take the lead on design, chassis tuning, cabin, seating and lighting.

So far Stellantis has not named any Jeep, Peugeot, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati or Ram products that will sit directly on Leapmotor platforms. That is understandable. Replacing a Jeep Wrangler or Peugeot 3008 with a rebadged Chinese EV overnight would be a hard sell politically and commercially in many markets.

Instead, the near term focus is on learning processes and using Leapmotor hardware where it fits cleanly. Over time, those lessons are likely to show up in several ways across Stellantis brands:
